I am Miranda Golden and I have been the Case Manager at ForSight Vision since January, 2012.
Most of my job responsibilities take me on the road with our Specialized Services Program. The main goal of this program is to help clients maintain their independence at home in spite of their vision loss. I can be found assisting clients with grocery shopping, providing a ride to a medical appointment or helping them read and organize mail or write checks to pay their bills. I also facilitate several Vision Loss Support Groups throughout York and Adams Counties.
When I am in the office I can be found helping with our Functional Low Vision Assessments (FLVA). I am the first staff person that one meets with when they come to our office for this appointment. I try to help the client determine areas of difficulty with their vision loss in day-to-day life and to educate them about other services that may be beneficial, either through ForSight or other social service agencies.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my 11-year-old son, Will, and my 8-year-old daughter, Maddie. In addition, I enjoy working in my garden, hunting, fishing, photographing nature, chilling at the river and sitting on the beach doing some people-watching.
One day I hope to travel cross country to visit every state and to have a small hobby farm raising goats, horses, cows and chickens.
