Document Imaging

DOCUMENT IMAGING

To me, this is one of the most enjoyable seasons of the year – hot summer days and warm star-lit nights!  Speaking of hot – our Document Imaging Operation has taken a quantum leap in the growth department!

Early this spring (After months of negotiations and planning) we were awarded a very large contract to install hardware & software plus scan more than a million mechanical drawings by KBA North America.   KBA North America (formerly John Motter Printing Press Co) has five major manufacturing plants in the world – three in Germany , one in Texas and another in Vermont .  The challenge for KBA was that the vast majority of their paper engineering drawings resided in their York Pa manufacturing operation which was scheduled to be closed in June.  ForSight’s charge was to develop an operation whereby KBA’s 1.4 million mechanical drawings dating back to 1932 can be scanned, enhanced, indexed and uploaded so anyone in the KBA Organization can view and or download the electronic version of their detailed drawings, no matter were in the world they may be.

In the typical ForSight fashion we rose to the occasion to exceed our customer’s expectations!  We purchased additional scanners, designed special software to make scanners and servers talk to one another and hired more quality visually impaired workers to accomplish this mammoth task.

Fast forward to today – we are scanning 5 different format drawings from wide format drawings that are 42 inches wide and up to 27 feet long to the typical 8 ½” X 11” standard page size on five different scanners.  All of KBA’s high tech servers are on-line in our facility to insure the highest quality and fastest uploads of electronic data.

Even with all this KBA activity we continue to supplement our portfolio of customers with new opportunities.  We have recently hired two key personnel to help support our rapid Document Imaging growth – both are new graduates of York Technical Institute each with specialized degrees.  Sherry Mitchell is our new Project Manager responsible for the day to day Document Imaging operations including quality & productivity and Danny Klingseisen is our Technical Engineer responsible for all hardware, software and up-load activity and data organization.  We are on a mission and making certain our future is fully supported for growth!

Our entire staff has dedicated themselves to making our one time dream a reality.  We offer document management solutions from wide format scanning to digitizing your personal family records and everything in between.  No opportunity is too big or too small for our talented crew.  If you have paper records in any quantity – we can save you time and money accessing your records electronically!  Please call Marty or myself for more information!

Thanks and Have a Wonderful Summer!
